So many of us wonder if we're charging too much or too little, or just don't know what to charge at all.
The Babysitting Rate Calculator was recently introduced, and it helps factor in all the things that are necessary when figuring out hourly babysitting rates (age, experience, location, etc.)
Use the babysitting rate calculator to come up with an idea, and then talk it out with us here in the forums. Certain family-specific factors (like if a child has special needs or the family isn't very well-off) will impact the hourly wage, and chatting it out with us here will help pinpoint exactly what's appropriate to charge.
Edit, 21 August 2006: A few of us have realized that the rate calculator tends to cite a price that seems a bit too high. For example, I charge $10/hour and was told to charge $11.25/hour. Please keep this in mind that this is just a computer program to help you set a price, not decide for you. Edit, 31 January 2007: Also keep in mind that the calculator deals in U.S. Dollars. I understand that some of our members are in Canada, the UK, and other international locations -- this calculator likely won't help you much.
