We have members here from across the country as well as from across the globe.

What are some dishes that are native to your region?  For example, I live in the South, just south of the Georgia border, where biscuits and gravy make a great breakfast, and collard greens are a regular side for supper.

What about you?  Whereabout do you live, and what food(s) are particular to your region?

I am from Northern MN, which is famous for wild rice soup. It tastes exsquisite on a cold winter's day! :D

I grew up in MN as well and, in addition to wild rice soup, we loved our hot dish (called casserole elsewhere)! My personal favorite was tator tot hot dish. Brown ground beef (my family uses ground turkey) and break it up into little chunks. Drain grease. Mix it in a casserole pan with 1 can cream of celery(or mushroom) soup, 1 can of green beans, and 1 can of corn. Spread frozen tator tots on top so they cover the mixture. Put it in the oven at 350 for 45 minutes or so. Bada-bing! It's delicious!


Not exactly the healthiest meal, but it's tasty!

Canada - Poutine - Fries, Gravy, and cheese.

I've never tried it myself, but it's very common. I'm just not a big fan of cheese, so I won't eat it.
