Nervous to ask......

Dancergirl 07-12-2007, 9:06 AM
Hello!! My neighbors have a kid that is currently 1 (but will soon be 2) and I would really, really like to babysit him.  The problem is, I am afriad to ask.....because I don't want to be pushy and all and say," Hey, can I babysit for your kid?"  and put them on the spot like they have to hire me......but I don't know how else to do it.  Any advice??? Thanks so much!
I love kids, dancing, and animals!

Just say something like this:

"Hi. I've been babysitting in the area and just wanted to let you know I'm available, just in case you might need a sitter sometime."

That way you don't sound pushy, but you are letting them know you are available. Wink [;)]

What I would do, is if the kid is outside with one of his parents, go over and play with him a little.  Then just tell the parent that if they ever need a sitter, that you would absolutely LOVE to watch him for them!!  Parents usually love to have someone who loves their kids to watch them, instead of someone who could really care less, and is just wanting the money.

one thing that i did was new neighbors had just moved in down hte block so i made a small card with my info like my name number and it that i could give them numbers of people that ive babysat for before so they could ask if they like me and i brought it to them in person and just told them i could baysit anytime they needed me and i have before hope that works for you!!!!!!!!
