Has anyone ever thought of doing this... I have been cruising a site about it to get some more information.  But if anyone has any expereince that would be great.  any information about your stay would be amazing.

ages of the children and were they good ages, if not what would you think would be better.
anything to look out for?
how much did you get paid
how much was your flight
what did your family include? (your own room, bathroom, tv.)
where did you go?
any thing that caught you off gaurd to look out for?

thanks

an aupair is someone who is hired in a different country to be a live in nanny, some do chores, but get time off to see the sights.
has anyone thought about this.

I think it's kinda dangerous!! I mean, think about it- a family you don't even know that well asks you to go to a whole different half of the world, just to have you take care of their children? Sounds crazy to me! Let me know what you think.

ive thought about it a lot, i love children and love french so i have often considered being an au pair in france. however, i get home sick very easily so dont know if i could cope that far away from home. but junebug2, its not crazy at all, its a really good way of teaching your child another language because theyre at the best age to learn. and you live in, so you always have somewhere to stay.

so as i said, i have often considered it and am thinking of maybe becoming one after college, so i guess thats two years from now. How about you amber? xx

am hoping to do it.  i have joined a site so that i can see what it is all about and the details of it before i decide.  I think i takes around 2 months at least to work off your plane ticket. different people have different accomidations, rates, locations, hours, it's just finding what would work for you.
Also there are Au pairs that have little or no experience, and there are forein nannys (that have experience and courses etc.)  so rather a nanny.
