Hi im a 12 year old girl and i have 3 years of experience and i am very responsible and mature. the parents are very satisfied with my work. i charge $4.00/hour and $1.00/hour extra for house cleaning. do u think im charging to much!

please tell me its very important for me!

No, you're not charging too much. Be careful with offering to do housecleaning, though. Every babysitter should leave the home as clean as she found it, and that shouldn't have a cost attached. Also, some parents may be concerned that the housework will be so time-consuming that the children are neglected (unless, of course, it's done while they're napping or asleep for the night).

I think I'm confused. It's sounds like you are saying that you are charging the parents $1/hr extra for cleaning the house but then making it fun before bed and bath time for the kids to do the cleaning?? If that is the case then that is not fair on the parents or the kids. Please correct me if I misunderstood you...

only_child, I think she meant that she has "cleaning games" to get the kids motivated. Like, who can pick up the most toys in 1 minute, and stuff like that. Hope you understand now.

You shouldn't charge extra for housecleaning. You should ALWAYS leave the house as clean as when you got there. Thats one thing you can do to impress the parents so that they will use you again. But it's a little ridiculous to charge EXTRA to clean!

Absolutely not! If anything I'd say to charge more! I usually just let the parent decide what to pay me...one family pays me seven and hour for two boys!

The cost of house cleaning should be part of the babysiting on the count of it is part of the job.I would charge $5 for the whole thing but explain that u have included house cleaning in the package.
