kids books!!

I got reminded by this from the this or that post...what are your favourite children's books? You can talk about books you read as a child if you like or about the books you love for kids these days!

My favourite these days is GUESS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU by Sam Mcbratney and Anita Jeram it's really sweet...it's all about a baby rabbit asking his daddy how much he loves him and they compete to see who can "love" the most until in the end the little one says "i love you right up to the moon" only for the dad to reply "i love you right up to the moon...AND BACK!"

lol it really is the sweetest little book...i had a lot of favourites when i was little...i loved the Malory Towers series by Enid Blyton, anything by Roald Dahl and i had a lovely little book called "The Last Noo Noo" about a little monster being weaned off his dummy...so sweet!

Oh and these days also, I love the Pocket Postman Series which comes with envelopes built into the pages with real letters inside! So how about everyone else...tell us about your favourites?

When I was three, my mom would read "The Little Engine that Could" to me every night at bedtime. It's how I learned to read by the time I was three, and I could recite it word-for-word.

Today, I adore the children's author, Sandra Boynton.

When I was about 3 or 4, my mom would read me a different nursery rhyme every night, until we read every single one in the book, then we would start all over again. That's when I started writing my own "rhymie stories" That's what I called it when I was little :-P Now I'm really into poetry.

OMG is that the book where the mom always rocked the kid to sleep and would say something like: I'll love your forever, forever my baby you'll be or something?    I love that book and i could never remember what its called or who its written by.  Thanks sooo much for mentioning it... i have to go buy it now!!!!!!!!!!

My husband is 27 now.  That's the book (Love You Forever) that his mother read to him every night, and it still makes her cry to read it.  :)

Love You Forever is great.

More great books:

Where The Wild Things Are

anything from Dr. Seuss, especially "Oh, The Places You'll Go!"

Oh, I could go on forever. We're a book house. We might just have more books than house. Wink [;)]
