I just started watching an 8 mo. baby in my home and today the grandmother asked me if $2.50 would be okay per hour. I was so shocked that I shyly said yes because I just couldn't believe that she would pay so little. I love this family and this little baby and I don't just keep her diapered and feed, but I love her and play with her. I don't want to take advantage of them, but I don't think that this amount is worth my time. I was wanting this to help supplement our income. Also I am an experienced Mom with 2 little girls of my own and so I'm an adult woman with her own children. I live in Ohio.
Thanks for your help!

You definitely should be making at least minimum wage and a fair and reasonable rate would be at least $6/hr. Talk to the grandmother and explain why you would like to be paid more...you are an experienced mom, need the money for mortgage, food, ect. and would love to continue watching her grandson. I hope this helps; good luck!
