I think 8 dollars an hour is a little costly.

Try 5 or 6 dollars an hour to get more customers.

Find out where the locals go often and hang flyers up there.

make the flyers catchy, try neon and highlighters....or try making the words pop out by taping the letters on!

Make sure the words are big, maybe print the flyer on a computer so that you seem more professional.

Hand out pamplets at school, ask the principal if you can make an announcement, hang flyers on bulletion boards.

As for when you are babysitting, the first time is judging time. If you didnt do a good job the first time, chances are that they won't want to hire you again or tell other people not to.

So make a good impression. Try to find out what the kid likes before-hand so that you have activity ideas.

Go to the dollar store and buy some little toys and games, use about 10 dollars, you'll earn the money back and the kids will probably like it.

Hope this helps!

gegege i think that 8 is a little much.  you might want to start out with $6 an hour plus $1 an hour for each additional child.
I don't know if you would want neon it lookslike you are a little young try to make classy, professional ones.
no matter what school you go to you are not going to get people on anouncements.  if you are in an elementry the kids would hear it not parents, and if you are in high school they are your age.  they wouldn't let you do it anyways. you might want to post it in the staff lounge if you can.

I don't think $8 is a very good price.  You should know that a lot of people can't afford to pay that much.  I'm 14, and I charge $3.50 an hour.  But I work extra extra hard.  I play with the kids, I make sure they have so much fun that they will go on and on and on about it after I'm gone, and I also make sure the parents come home to a clean house.  Then if they can afford to, they're usually impressed enough to pay me MORE than I charge!!

what i do is i dont have a cost because i dont want the parents to think i charge to much so i just say whatever cost they think would be best and it works for me
