This weekend I'll be sitting for a 1 year old baby for the first time. What should I do? I know how to change a diaper and all, but I don't know when to put her to bed...how to get her to eat...well, I just need a little help!

Every kid has a different routine. The parents will fill you in...if they don't ASK. Good luck!

The best thing that you can do is ask. Chances are they will walk you through the bedtime routine for the child. As for feeding, the child may still be on babyfood, so you may need to feed them, or they may feed themselves. If it is real food, be sure to cut it up extra small and always keep alert for choking with a baby. If you need to know how to do something, don't be afraid to ask the parents, it is definitley better to ask for help then pretend you don't need it and mess up. They sould be happy with your honesty, and appreciate that you are asking rather than pretending you know. You may want to tell them if you need help with anything before your babysitting date though, that way maybe you could go over while the parents are still there and they could show you how they feed the baby, and how they put her to bed. Hope this helps, and enjoy babysitting they baby, they are alot of fun!
