Confused [*-)]Hey Im twelve and am wondering what to charge fo my services. Im a red cross ceritfied babysitter, and I've helped out my aunt in her daycare business and babysat my 11 yr. old cousin, but other wise I havent really babysat. I've changed both types of dipers and am great with all ages, but I am worried that my lack of actual experience will lower my chances of being employeed. Also, I don't know what to ask for, money wise, as you already know. Can y'all help??

The fact that you have taken red cross classes is good. Based on your age and experience level, I would say about $5/hr with $1/hr extra per extra child. However, I wouldn't suggest more than two at your age. It could get really stressful beyond a couple kids.

If you haven't actually been alone with any kids yet, I would suggest starting out as a mommy's helper first, charging only a couple dollars per hour. Then, you can get a feel for what you should (and shouldn't) do.

However, it may not need to be very long, since you've helped in a daycare.

Plus, it lets the parent actually see how you are with the kids before they hire you and it gives the kids time to get used to you.

You're welcome. Thanks for the compliment on my screen name.

I've been babysitting and nannying for years and consider my clients my second kids.
Plus, I have 6 kids, so hence the name "Mommy 2 Lots" LOL

I got the avatar from yahoo avatars. If you don't have a yahoo account, you can go to www.meez.com instead. They have a fun avatar creator. Then, you can save it to your computer. I recommend taking a screenshot or screencapture of it and saving that if you want to use it on here because I tried it the other way and the file was too large. If you need to know how to do that, let me know.

oops. I just realized you probably have to be thirteen to use either of those. Hmmm. Let me see if I can find another site that you can use. If so, I'll post it here.
